Matthew obtained his Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. Matthew has post graduate training in dry needling (IMS), blood flow restriction training (BFR), manual therapy techniques, plyometrics and participates in numerous climbing courses, such as attending the Climbing Medicine Symposium. He has worked with athletes who have played in the CFL, NLL, and also youth and adult climbers who have competed at Worlds and Nationals in boulder, lead and send V10+ outdoors.
As a physiotherapist and climber himself Matthew specializes in climbing specific injuries such as finger and foot injuries. Matthew helps them achieve their best performance and return to their activities with confidence. With a deep understanding of the unique demands placed on the body by life and sports, Matthew provides personalized care to address injuries, enhance rehabilitation, and optimize performance. Matthew has a keen interest in injuries from climbing, Achilles tendon ruptures, post surgical recovery + return to sport and ACL injuries.
